Darin Banadyga was born and raised on a farm near Preeceville, Saskatchewan. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Regina where he later finished post-graduate work in Education Administration. His wife and their two sons (ages 15 and 17) have been proud residents of Regina for 2 decades. He enjoys camping, walking, being involved in his childrens’ sport/music activities and volunteering in the community and in his local parish.

Darin is currently the Executive Director of Sport Recreation and Stewardship, Ministry of Parks Culture and Sport. He serve on two boards; the Western Canada Lottery Corporation Board of Directors and as an ex-officio member of the board of the Community Initiatives Fund.

Recently he served as Chief of Staff to Minister of Tourism Parks Culture and Sport for 5 years. Before that he was a teacher and elementary school administrator for 17 years.
