Writer Françoise Enguehard was born on the French islands of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon and moved to St. John’s, Newfoundland, almost 40 years ago. She has published several award-winning novels, including her most recent work, The Islands of Doctor Thomas. A former television and radio reporter for Radio-Canada in Newfoundland and Labrador, she now heads VIVAT Communications, a public relations and communications firm based in St. John’s. She has been actively involved in the Canadian and international Francophonie for many years, having served as president of the Société Nationale de l’Acadie from 2006 to 2012.
