A Top 40 under 40 Leader and Nexens geopolitical expert, Gareth Lewis manages political, regulatory, macroeconomic and legislative risk throughout Nexens global operations. He is a frontline negotiator and lobbyist with government officials on energy policy, regulatory frameworks and fiscal terms, as well as advising the executive team and board of directors on risk assessment and mitigation strategies. 

Gareth was instrumental in landing the winning bid to bring World Petroleum Council Youth Forum of 1,500 young leaders to Calgary in October 2013. Politically active at home and abroad, Lewis is the Honorary Consul-General for the Kingdom of Morocco and, in 2008, was one of 10 finalists on the CBC reality TV show Canadas Next Great Prime Minister. In 2012, he helped organize a high-profile donation campaign for the United Way in which 437 Nexen employees took to the streets dressed like Superman, breaking the previous Guinness World Record. The stunt raised $1.35 million in donations.
