CEO WellNext and Chair, Edmonton Fringe Festival
Sam Jenkins is foremost an entrepreneur, but he also identifies himself as a volunteer, a community organizer and an advocate for the importance of arts and culture. Currently, he is the CEO and one of the co-founders of WellNext, an Alberta-based technology startup. WellNext provides a platform for employers to positively influence employee physical and mental health, and workplace well-being through incentives, campaigns and community-driven culture. In addition to his responsibilities with WellNext, he also acts as an advisor and director for several other technology-driven businesses and social enterprises.
In the community, Sam provides leadership and advisory to a number of different non-profit organizations, as the President and Chair of Fringe Theatre Adventures and the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival, a co-founder of Startup Edmonton, an entrepreneur-led social enterprise that aims to amplify innovation and activate startups while making Edmonton a hotbed for creativity, as a Director of the University of Alberta Business Alumni Association.
In 2012, Sam was named one of Edmonton's Top 40 Under 40 by Avenue Magazine.
