CBC/Radio-Canada

In 2017, Canada will be celebrating 150 years since Confederation. In anticipation of this historic milestone, CBC/Radio-Canada is teaming up with Community Foundations of Canada, VIA Rail Canada and other national collaborators to spark a conversation where Canadians can meet and connect.

CANADA 150/2017 STARTS NOW conferences will be held in 12 cities across the country before Canada Day 2013. Presentations from local leaders and engaged citizens such as business leaders, artists and community representatives will address a range of topics to feed the discussion. Together, we will reflect on how Canada's cultural and democratic life has changed since Confederation, and we will generate concrete ideas for celebrating 2017.

We believe it is important for the national public broadcaster to serve as project instigator, as we were for Canada's 100th anniversary. Many of us are joining forces to bring Canadians together and to have inspiring conversations. We invite you to be part of the discussion as these events unfold across the country.
